Leads uOGenAI through its pilot with about 300 testers, and co-presented it with a live demo at the Ottawa Applied Medical AI Summit in May 2026.
- Part-timeSep 2025–Jan 2026
Joined after building and pitching an AI support-assistant prototype. Started on uOGenAI’s retrieval and helped build the Student Health and Wellness chatbot.
Overview
Designed uOGenAI’s initial architecture and implemented its vector semantic search for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), taking it from prototype to a pilot with about 300 testers who pick a model, build chatbots and get answers that cite their sources.
Built its NestJS backend (Prisma, PostgreSQL, role-based access control) and its LangGraph agents on AWS Bedrock models.
Got uOGenAI’s AWS deployment approved by working with the security, privacy and QA teams on DevOps, governance and Canada-only hosting.
Proposed uOttawa Chat, a multi-agent assistant that brings the university’s chatbots together, and built its proof of concept on Microsoft Agent Framework and Azure OpenAI. The CIO and architects approved it, with launch planned for 2027.
Building the Knowledge Retrieval Service in NestJS: BullMQ workers on Redis chunk and embed documents into Qdrant, a TOPdesk connector feeds it, and a new index goes live only after it passes validation.
Helped build the Student Health and Wellness chatbot: a React student app with Microsoft sign-in and a Next.js admin.
